Art Gala Attire

Tonight my family and I went to a local art show in my hometown and the dress code was dressy-casual. I went with this lovely little pink dress!  It’s one of my current favourites… I just love the fit and cut!!!

I also curled my hair and added some jewelry to dress it up a little more. But the dress itself looks so lovely I didn’t need too many accessories : )

Here’s the pieces we picked up!!  After they’re re-framed they’ll look gorgeous in the house : )

A Classy Work Dress

I’m loving everything Maeve this spring!! They just cannot do wrong it seems.

A Classy Work Dress

As soon as I saw this hanging in-store I knew I needed it. My similar Maeve dress is one of my favourite go-to’s and this is just a tad bit nicer, given it has a little more detail.

IMG_3432

It might not pick up in the photos, but the centre panelling is a dark navy blue colour that is just beautiful. I love wearing this dress by itself, but it also looks phenomenal with a waist belt.

IMG_3526

My boyfriend bought the lovely necklace and earrings for me while he was in Europe in December. This is possibly my favourite ring… I picked it up in-store on sale back in December and have been loving it ever since!!!  The stone reminds me of the Arkenstone from the Hobbit : D !!  The creamy white colours of the jewelry go absolutely perfectly with this dress!

IMG_3441

The last part of this outfit is my FAVOURITE new thing!!!  An adorable watch that I’m just 110% in love with.  Since it’s black, it goes with most anything but those adorable polka dots just get me all sorts of compliments!!  Plus it’s a great price for such a lovely little watch : )

Have a great weekend everyone!! : ) It’s supposed to be beautiful weather so go get your tan on!

A Romantic Miami Getaway!!

Hello Lovelies!

Today is an extra special post!!  I was contacted by the gorgeous travel guru, Kendra Thornton last week about creating her an outfit for a romantic trip to Miami with her hubby. Instead of creating one outfit, I created two outfits for one day!

Miami-Bound Kendra Thornton !!

The Gorgeous, Miami-Bound Kendra Thornton !!

I planned her day to begin poolside at their stunning hotel, the Delano. I chose the most gorgeous cut-away, structured swimsuit to highlight her petite figure and paired it with a flowing cover-up that’ll be a standout piece on the pool deck.

The Delano Hotel Pool

I wanted to create an outfit that would make her standout, but also not look overdone. Subtly sexy and alluring, but also classy and put-together.  I want her to turn heads for all the right reasons!

A Lovely Afternoon

After the day in the sun, Kendra will enjoy an afternoon in the spa, courtesy of her wonderful husband… a girl has to be pampered after a long morning of sipping cocktails in a lounge chair by the pool!

After a day in the sun with her man, I planned an outfit for dinner and drinks at the restaurant in the hotel. No colour looks better paired with tanned skin than coral pinks, so I chose this lovely and light dress. Pair it with some glamorous and sparkly accessories for the perfect evening sipping on fine wines.

Enchanting

This dress could easily be used to dance the night away at any of the clubs down South Beach.  Nothing is better than dancing the night away with your man in the heat of Miami!!

A huge thank you to Kendra Thornton for inviting me to participate in this challenge!!!  I hope I’ve helped inspire some outfits for you!  Have an amazing trip with your husband : ) make the most of your time together!

Everyday Attire

My job has me out of office about 50% of the time, which is fantastic! I’m always out checking out newly install landscapes, so sometimes wearing my business attire is not the best of ideas. I end up in some pretty muddy and dusty situations that I’d really rather not put my ‘dry-clean only’s into.

IMG_3452

A few times a week, I pass on the dress and heels for an outfit like this. It’s still acceptable in the office, as it’s not frumpy casual. I can always count on Pilcro jeans for a classy and clean look, plus this Maeve blouse is one of my favourites. Once I leave the office, I’d tie the front of the blouse (still classy, these are high waited jeans), toss my hair in a ponytail, and throw on my sunglasses. Then nothing is blowing around while I’m trying to focus on work.

Hope everyone is having a fabulous and stylish spring!! Any suggestions for classy yet comfortable clothes for my site visits at work would be awesome!

The Perfect Spring Accessory!!

The plants are all budding & all around town veryyy pale legs are finally making an appearance!! Mine have been blinding the town since the beginning of April… but some of us are just bolder than others. ; )

The Perfect Spring Accessory!!

I was so thrilled when we got this vest in at my local Anthropologie. It’s the ultimate cutest accessory for 2014 spring/summer!!! I was sold on getting it the second I saw the adorable lace on the back.

IMG_3474

Not only am I in love with this vest… but I also adore this dress! It’s great for casual days walking around town, as well as the office. The more wearable the piece, the more it is worth the cost. Lately I’ve been picking up a ton of business pieces that would look far too stiff outside of work , as well as shorts and tanks that I could never wear to the office… so having a few things that work for both is fantastic! : )

IMG_3398

I took these photos right before I went to the supermarket, so I paired the outfit with my favourite basic sandals and no other accessories. I can’t think of a time I ever wore a statement necklace to Safeway…

Hope everyone’s having a great Spring thus far! See you all again soon : )

Birthday Dinner Dress

Birthday Dinner Dress

Happy Spring Friends!!

For my 22nd birthday this past week, my family and I went out to a west coast restaurant on Whyte Ave. The food was OK, but my dress was fantastic!  As previously mentioned in Emi’s Haul, I fell in love with this zip-front dress when she bought it.  The fabric almost feels foamy it’s so soft, and the pockets are made out of this fantastic stretchy material.  It is too comfortable to be such a fitted dress.

I paired it with a basic pair of leather sandals that I just received from my Anthropologie online shopping a few weeks ago : ) I’m so happy with them! I always have great luck with Anthro’s shoes, they always arrive in the perfect size & they’re always super comfortable.

I highly recommend anyone looking for a great basic to go to your local Anthro and try on this dress! You won’t be disappointed! : )

Carefree Chinos

Carefree Chinos

So far, these are my favourite pair of pants to wear this spring (not that spring is quite here yet in Canada). Sanctuary blends slouchy and classy together so well that while I’m feeling cosy, I’m looking à la mode.

Pairing these great pants with a simple blouse & lightweight scarf kept me cool at work all day long.

The heels, believe it or not, are more comfortable than sandals. I’ve never had such a pleasant-to-wear heel!! Ladies: if you’re in the market for a fabulous shootie this spring/summer, check these out at Anthropologie’s online store!

1 Blouse, 3 Ways

Making one piece work in many scenarios helps justify the cost and increase the size of your wardrobe without spending money. I believe that it is worth spending extra to purchase quality clothing that will look better for longer than many of the inexpensive pieces from H&M or XXI. Finding a top like this that works both casually and at the office is a fantastic little discovery!!

1 Blouse, 3 Ways

Look 1

The first look I did with this blouse was a casual spring day outfit. It’s very comfortable and easy to wear. This outfit is perfect for any spring day!

Look 2

Look 2

The second look is a great outfit for a chilly spring night. It’s also very casual, comfortable & wearable. Accessorizing with bright colour keeps the outfit fun & summery!

Look 3

Look 3

The third look I created with this top is an outfit for work. Paired with a blazer, dress pants, and a fun necklace; this outfit stands out more than the typical, muted, workplace outfit.

Wear to Work

Wear to Work

Here’s one of my go-to work outfits. I prefer a dress or a skirt to dress pants. I like to feel comfortable during my 8 hours at the office!

Style Tip: toss a few quick curls & add a necklace to your outfit to dress it up. This outfit without the necklace & curls would be much less dressy.

OOTD: 50’s swing style

I’ve been trying to get Rachel to buy one of these skirts forever! They are amazingly fabulous on her curvy figure. She should wear skirts like these every single day haha.

Tip: You have to understand your body type in order to wear clothes to highlight your body in the best ways possible. For example, I have a very straight-down build with not a lot of waist or hip, so this skirt would sit wide at my waist and flare out even wider from there. It’s an adorable skirt, but it will only work for curvy or petite women.

Dress your body right ladies! Everyone can look amazing : ) you just have to find the right clothes, fits, and styles for you!
