Lovely Layers

This is without a doubt the most comfortable I have ever been at work. This dress first appeared in my local Anthro as a maxi, which didn’t quite fit me right so I passed on it. When this fabulous shorter version came in (in 3 gorgeous colours) I had to get it!!!

Lovely Layers

I’m IN LOVE with this teal colour. It’s such a rich shade & it really stands out. The scarf I picked up to add a subtle pop of colour to the look.

To soften the look of the outfit, I pulled my hair back into a bun. A wispy up-do softens the lines of your face and makes you look a little less harsh.

I honestly felt like I was wearing jammies the material is so silky soft!! Definitely a great piece by Lilka. Highly recommended!!! Now I just need a tan – come on sun!

Art Gala Attire

Tonight my family and I went to a local art show in my hometown and the dress code was dressy-casual. I went with this lovely little pink dress!  It’s one of my current favourites… I just love the fit and cut!!!

I also curled my hair and added some jewelry to dress it up a little more. But the dress itself looks so lovely I didn’t need too many accessories : )

Here’s the pieces we picked up!!  After they’re re-framed they’ll look gorgeous in the house : )

A Classy Work Dress

I’m loving everything Maeve this spring!! They just cannot do wrong it seems.

A Classy Work Dress

As soon as I saw this hanging in-store I knew I needed it. My similar Maeve dress is one of my favourite go-to’s and this is just a tad bit nicer, given it has a little more detail.

It might not pick up in the photos, but the centre panelling is a dark navy blue colour that is just beautiful. I love wearing this dress by itself, but it also looks phenomenal with a waist belt.

My boyfriend bought the lovely necklace and earrings for me while he was in Europe in December. This is possibly my favourite ring… I picked it up in-store on sale back in December and have been loving it ever since!!!  The stone reminds me of the Arkenstone from the Hobbit : D !!  The creamy white colours of the jewelry go absolutely perfectly with this dress!

The last part of this outfit is my FAVOURITE new thing!!!  An adorable watch that I’m just 110% in love with.  Since it’s black, it goes with most anything but those adorable polka dots just get me all sorts of compliments!!  Plus it’s a great price for such a lovely little watch : )

Have a great weekend everyone!! : ) It’s supposed to be beautiful weather so go get your tan on!

A Romantic Miami Getaway!!

Hello Lovelies!

Today is an extra special post!!  I was contacted by the gorgeous travel guru, Kendra Thornton last week about creating her an outfit for a romantic trip to Miami with her hubby. Instead of creating one outfit, I created two outfits for one day!

Miami-Bound Kendra Thornton !!

The Gorgeous, Miami-Bound Kendra Thornton !!

I planned her day to begin poolside at their stunning hotel, the Delano. I chose the most gorgeous cut-away, structured swimsuit to highlight her petite figure and paired it with a flowing cover-up that’ll be a standout piece on the pool deck.

The Delano Hotel Pool

I wanted to create an outfit that would make her standout, but also not look overdone. Subtly sexy and alluring, but also classy and put-together.  I want her to turn heads for all the right reasons!

A Lovely Afternoon

After the day in the sun, Kendra will enjoy an afternoon in the spa, courtesy of her wonderful husband… a girl has to be pampered after a long morning of sipping cocktails in a lounge chair by the pool!

After a day in the sun with her man, I planned an outfit for dinner and drinks at the restaurant in the hotel. No colour looks better paired with tanned skin than coral pinks, so I chose this lovely and light dress. Pair it with some glamorous and sparkly accessories for the perfect evening sipping on fine wines.

This dress could easily be used to dance the night away at any of the clubs down South Beach.  Nothing is better than dancing the night away with your man in the heat of Miami!!

A huge thank you to Kendra Thornton for inviting me to participate in this challenge!!!  I hope I’ve helped inspire some outfits for you!  Have an amazing trip with your husband : ) make the most of your time together!

Everyday Attire

My job has me out of office about 50% of the time, which is fantastic! I’m always out checking out newly install landscapes, so sometimes wearing my business attire is not the best of ideas. I end up in some pretty muddy and dusty situations that I’d really rather not put my ‘dry-clean only’s into.

A few times a week, I pass on the dress and heels for an outfit like this. It’s still acceptable in the office, as it’s not frumpy casual. I can always count on Pilcro jeans for a classy and clean look, plus this Maeve blouse is one of my favourites. Once I leave the office, I’d tie the front of the blouse (still classy, these are high waited jeans), toss my hair in a ponytail, and throw on my sunglasses. Then nothing is blowing around while I’m trying to focus on work.

Hope everyone is having a fabulous and stylish spring!! Any suggestions for classy yet comfortable clothes for my site visits at work would be awesome!

Gorgeous Statement!

Ok so some people would call wearing floral jewelry ‘cheesy’ given I work with plants everyday… but I prefer to call it ADORABLE.

Gorgeous Statement!

This is my new favourite statement necklace !! It’s called the ‘gilded gerbera’… it’s certainly not gerbera flowers, but it’s definitely beautiful. The soft blue & gold colours pair together so nicely and look good with a lot more than you’d expect!

I love a good statement necklace & I’m so happy to add this one to my collection : )

Necklace: gilded gerbera bib necklace
Top: splitback tee (bordeaux)

The Perfect Spring Accessory!!

The plants are all budding & all around town veryyy pale legs are finally making an appearance!! Mine have been blinding the town since the beginning of April… but some of us are just bolder than others. ; )

The Perfect Spring Accessory!!

I was so thrilled when we got this vest in at my local Anthropologie. It’s the ultimate cutest accessory for 2014 spring/summer!!! I was sold on getting it the second I saw the adorable lace on the back.

Not only am I in love with this vest… but I also adore this dress! It’s great for casual days walking around town, as well as the office. The more wearable the piece, the more it is worth the cost. Lately I’ve been picking up a ton of business pieces that would look far too stiff outside of work , as well as shorts and tanks that I could never wear to the office… so having a few things that work for both is fantastic! : )

I took these photos right before I went to the supermarket, so I paired the outfit with my favourite basic sandals and no other accessories. I can’t think of a time I ever wore a statement necklace to Safeway…

Hope everyone’s having a great Spring thus far! See you all again soon : )

Birthday Dinner Dress

Birthday Dinner Dress

Happy Spring Friends!!

For my 22nd birthday this past week, my family and I went out to a west coast restaurant on Whyte Ave. The food was OK, but my dress was fantastic!  As previously mentioned in Emi’s Haul, I fell in love with this zip-front dress when she bought it.  The fabric almost feels foamy it’s so soft, and the pockets are made out of this fantastic stretchy material.  It is too comfortable to be such a fitted dress.

I paired it with a basic pair of leather sandals that I just received from my Anthropologie online shopping a few weeks ago : ) I’m so happy with them! I always have great luck with Anthro’s shoes, they always arrive in the perfect size & they’re always super comfortable.

manly enough to drink a bellini

I highly recommend anyone looking for a great basic to go to your local Anthro and try on this dress! You won’t be disappointed! : )

A Summer Haul !

Emi and I hit up the local Anthropologie & found potentially thee best summer items. Obviously Emi shares my love for great clothes and splurged to fill her closet for her summer trips, she was kind enough to share some pictures with me to share with all of you!

Summer Haul !

The stunning white tank pictured above is a delicate doily pattern that flows so nicely, belted or not. It’ll work great with some light-washed shorts & her cowboy boots while we’re vacationing in Vegas in July!! The belt it’s paired with here is so feminine and dainty, it made the top seem softer and more flowy, in contrast to the darker belt she also picked up below.

This darker, more structured belt made the top look more put together & would work great in a number of different outfits. The detailing and colouring in the belt is gorgeous! Definitely a great find!

Next, Emi found this brand new GORGEOUSLY fitted dress. It’s very structured & definitely an amazing dress for a handful of occasions. It’s easily dressed down or up with accessories, making it a great dress to have around for casual dates or a more formal event. I’m definitely going to be trying this on in-store myself next time I’m in… it’s too fabulous to pass up!

Emi’s got a fantastic summer full of trips planned, including Phoenix in just 2 short weeks. She needed something comfortable to wear while walking around shopping and while travelling, as well as something more dressy to wear for more formal dinners (or also shopping, who are we kidding… we always like to look fabulous). She tried on a few maxi’s and found that this adorable striped one would be perfect for anything casual, given the cottony-comfort.

She also picked out this stunning blue and orange printed v-neck maxi that fit her like a glove, which also had pockets *SOLD*! The colours of the printed maxi will also look amazing when paired with her Phoenix-tanned skin in a few weeks.

Finally, Emi needed some basic pieces for work this summer. She picked out this popular silk-front tee that’s simple, but also cut in a very flattering way that shows off your style without showing off too much skin in the office.

Reviews: Keeping in mind Emi is a size 0, everything pictured is xs or size 0.  All the items mentioned fit true to size (if anything fit big, she couldn’t buy it). Both belts were a size small and they fit her with space. The two maxi’s she bought normally fit quite short, but on her they fit at a perfect maxi length. On a 5’6 woman, they would sit a few inches off the floor. All-in-all Emi found some gorgeous & great quality clothes & I can’t wait to see vacation photos!!
